Re: The Unconstitutional Health Care Reform Bill & Taxation Without Representation

Dear Chief Justice Roberts,

I am writing to you today because I have no idea where to turn next. I am distraught at the direction that our beloved country is heading.

Where in the Constitution is it written that the government has the right to force us to have, the right to take over, or the obligation to provide our health care?

Please help me to understand how a law was passed into existence when 70% of the American people clearly stated that they did not want this health care reform bill. It was passed into law by 219 legislators. This does not show that our representatives are representing our desires. How is it that this health care bill can be made law under the circumstances that took place? “Sweetheart deals” to certain states, “back room deals” to others, and “midnight votes” are phrases that have come to define this Congress. We do not want to publicly fund abortions; we do not want to cover people that are here in this country illegally; we do not want our taxes to go up and up, while the Congress ignores us, nor do we want bureaucrats in charge of our own very personal decisions.

The people of this country have not gotten to speak. The Congress has acted totally in a partisan way to dictate to us how our lives shall be lived. This Congress has run roughshod over our liberties, our rights, and our voices.

I am a 51-year-old woman with Multiple Sclerosis. I have been treating it holistically since being diagnosed in 2003. I have chosen this path because I didn’t agree with the allopathic alternative of injecting myself with drugs weekly at a cost of $24,000 yearly; especially since I did not see that the drugs help the “disease”; it simply shuts down your immune system. I have been a-symptomatic for these past 7 years, by exercising, following a proper diet, and taking care of myself. With this new health care system, I understand that a bureaucrat will tell me how to treat my “disease.” How is this happening in our beloved country? Where do they have the right to tell me how to live my life? I am panicked at the prospect of this possibility.

Our country was founded by men that understood that the power of the government is to be limited, not absolute. It was set up as a triumvirate so that there would be checks and balances.

I am reaching out to you today, Chief Justice Roberts, because the other two arms of our system have failed the people of America. They are on their own agenda and have ignored the will of the people.

I beseech you to please give me a glimmer of hope. Nancy Pelosi called the Constitution “irrelevant” in the matter of health care. I could not disagree more vehemently.

Thank you for your time.

Yours Truly,
Jean
