Informational Session on Constitutional Amendments

Before November 6th it is imperative that you understand the amendments being put forth in the questions that will appear on the ballot.

This Wednesday October 24, 2012, at 6:00 PM the RLCNH is sponsoring a forum that will have noted legislators speak to you and answer questions about these amendments at the Thomas More College of Liberal Arts, 6 Manchester Street, Merrimack, New Hampshire.

Reps. Paul Mirski, Paul Ingbretson, Dan Itse, and Gregory Sorg will speak and a question and answer period will follow.

Question 1 on the ballot would add a constitutional ban on a personal income tax in New Hampshire using the following language passed by the Legislature as CACR 13.

Question 2 would restore some oversight over New Hampshire’s Judicial Branch by the people through their Legislature. Due to an amendment in 1978, there is currently no oversight over New Hampshire’s court system, a very dangerous situation that this amendment would fix. The Legislature passed this language on to the people for consideration via CACR 26.
