Kelleigh Nelson on why the ‘con-con’ must be stopped
Contained in her articles are direct quotes from the ever-suspect TPP and TPN ‘leaders’ on why they are hooking up with a Harvard socialist to push for a ‘con-con’ or Constitutional Convention.
On money collected that eventually went to campaigns Meckler said: “The money could have done an enormous amount of good if it had been distributed to local tea parties to help them with their ground games in 2012. Instead, it was a colossal waste, which served to foster the narrative that TPP is a tool of the Republican Party…”
Legit tea parties only involve themselves in campaigns when they vet candidates or educate the public on issues that relate to those candidates. They do not collect money to give to either party. While the money would have been best spent on education however, Meckler and others in the GOP-biased PACs did more to obfuscate the truth about some candidates than they did to educate the public on the candidates’ true positions. (For example, Judson Phillips of TPN sent out a NH “voter guide” that said Ron Paul was for ‘open borders’, the complete opposite of the truth) NHTPC members had produced a very different voter matrix which was fair and correct.

At the conclusion of Part 2 above, Nelson states what many wrongly believe — that the first tea party gathering was in 2009.
We of course know differently. The facts are, the first tea party was held in 2007, on Dec 16 to be exact, at Faneuil Hall and at harborsides all over the country. There was no Dick Armey or FW present, and no funding from the Koch Bros. The legit tea party had already been in operation long before 2009.
