Jerry DeLemus doesn’t think so and that is why he is running for that office in Strafford County. In fact he knows they are not, perhaps with the exception of Grafton County’s Sheriff.
A while back, in a joint effort with some of our supporting groups, NHTPC’s public relations person sent polling letters to each of NH’s County Sheriffs. We got back only ONE promise.
As he went door to door hoping to garner support for his candidacy for Sheriff, Jerry DeLemus of Strafford County said that after the polling of our sheriffs was done, “…none of them would sign up to join the Constitutional Sheriff and Police Officers Association, which basically says you would adhere to uphold your oath. And it bothered me.”
NHTPC received this response from Grafton and this one from Coos, which was eventually rescinded.
But one woman, as reported in the Union Leader, told him that she thought he, being a “constitutionalist”, might be “too liberal” for her.
This is proof that ignorance is abundant in NH and we, as issue-oriented groups, have much more work to do to educate the masses.
