When Will the Violence Stop?
The couple was not robbed by the group of five assailants, only beaten.

The main group planning the protest according to their fliers was The Iron Rail Collective, a New Orleans-based anarchist group in the vein of those who make news in America and worldwide as they trash and burn cities whenever and wherever world leaders meet.

When Sarah Palin ran for Vice President in 2008, unwarranted hateful rhetoric used against her in the press spurred on the burning of her church in Alaska. In San Fransisco, they hung her in effigy. Her children were attacked and spurious accusations were made against her husband for cheating. A female comedienne even suggested she wished that she be ganged-raped in NYC.
No one considered these crimes of hate or libel however.
Recently, hate speech against Palin has been ratcheted up in the press, with talking heads and others contending that her use of the word ‘targeted districts’ — thought to be normal campaign speech by most in the ‘biz’ — was some sort of code word for something else. Ridiculous.
Now we have word that a couple who were wearing Palin buttons were victims of the backlash. They were apparently followed and then beaten by protesters as they were leaving a fundraiser. [Update: Palin buttons was erroneous report]
“Bautsch, chief campaign fundraiser for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, and her boyfriend Joe Brown, were savagely beaten Friday night in New Orleans after leaving a Republican Party fundraising dinner by a group of thugs who reportedly targeted the couple because they were wearing Sarah Palin pins. Bautch’s leg was broken and Brown incurred a broken jaw and nose as well as a concussion.”
