Senator Shaheen Casts Toxic Vote

I’ll bet people who voted for this woman could not have had any idea how she would vote to make their lives more miserable. This statement from Americans for Prosperity just about sums it up:

EPA Vote Will Be Toxic for Senator Jeanne Shaheen
‘Every senator who voted NO voted to look the other way’

WINDHAM, NH – The people of New Hampshire will not forget Senator Jeanne Shaheen’s vote to allow the EPA to regulate the economy.

“Like health care, this vote will have devastating political consequences for senators on the wrong side of their constituents,” said AFP New Hampshire State Director Corey Lewandowski.

“Sen. Jay Rockefeller got it exactly right in explaining his yes vote: ‘The EPA can’t decide. We have to. I’m elected to protect my people and my country.’

“Senator Shaheen had a chance to decide. To take responsibility. But she failed to step in on behalf of New Hampshire jobs and families. November is coming, and we will not forget.”

Tim Phillips, president of Americans for Prosperity, said: “This is outrageous. The Senate has allowed the EPA to essentially turn itself into a super-legislature. The EPA is simply rewriting the law to suit the administration’s purposes, and the Senate is unwilling to stop them.

“The Obama administration can now continue pursuing an extreme global warming agenda, sending our energy prices skyrocketing and gaining sweeping regulatory control over the United States economy – without passing legislation in Congress.

“Every senator who voted NO voted to look the other way, to outsource legislative responsibility to the EPA, and allow that agency to run roughshod over American families and workers.”

Additionally, Americans for Prosperity thanked Sen. Judd Gregg (R-NH) for voting to stop the EPA global warming-based power grab.

“Thank you, Senator Gregg, for doing what is right for the citizens of New Hampshire,” said Corey R. Lewandowski, state director of Americans for Prosperity. “It’s just too bad other senators did not have Americans’ best interests in mind in this disastrous vote.”

Tim Phillips, president of Americans for Prosperity, said:

“Unfortunately there were not enough heroes in the U.S. Senate willing to stand up to the Obama EPA. The Senate has voted to allow the EPA to simply rewrite the law to suit the administration’s purposes.

“The Obama administration can now continue pursuing an extreme global warming agenda, sending our energy prices skyrocketing and gaining sweeping regulatory control over the United States economy – without passing legislation in Congress.

“Every senator who voted NO voted to look the other way, to outsource legislative responsibility to the EPA, and allow that agency to run roughshod over American families and workers.
“We salute the heroes who voted to stop this outrageous EPA power grab, and we look forward to a future Congress that will be more willing and able stop the EPA.”
